The nearer it gets to B day ( Bacchus day ) the more questions crop up (specific to staffies as I have kept dogs before).

What's the rule of thumb for volume of food?

Is there a body weight to total daily food weight ratio?

Do you just guesstimate according to how much weight he is gaining/losing?

What constitutes overweight/underweight in a staffy pup?

Just so you know that I've been reading THE CULTURE CLASH......no answers = no reinforcers eg. photos of Bacchus when he arrives next week >Smile

Have just received a bag of Orijen Puppy which I ordered on-line, so will be gradually switching him onto that or another ( perhaps you can recommend ) quality dried.

It does depend on what your feeding, look at the guidelines as well a guide BUT most importantly is to look at the condition of your dog i.e to skinny to porkey.

I keep my boys as lean as i can but i feed raw so it's not the same Smile

I think it's ok to let a pup get slightly plump, but certainly not fat. I don't like to see a skinny pup.

As to amounts, start off with the recommended amounts & then adjust as you see how your dog's condition develops.

Orijen is a great quality food and one I would always recommend Smile

If I were you, I'd go off the manufacturers guidelines then see how he does and adjust accordingly.

It's better for a growing pup to be a tad porky than underweight IMO but adult dogs, I prefer lean.
