whats my name?

well we have had noah for a week now, goes all through the night from day one, water bottle and clock in pillow case
my one concern (maybe i'm expecting to much) is that we get no response when we call his name,
i call him and he shuffles backwards barking and growling, he could be captain of the england biting team also.

Try calling his name and than feeding a treat. After a bit he will get it.

also it's the tone of voice used to say it, use a firm friendly call and it should work, Marley will answer to any name if said correctly

You'll have to put on a silly girly voice, that should do the trick, use with the treat for maximum effect

i do put on a silly voice like orville, perhaps thats why he bites me lol!!

so a bribe it is, not wanting him to get fat, what treats are good ?

When Ralph was that young, I mostly used bits of his dry food for treats. That way I could measure it out and take from his daily allowance, so he wouldn't pile on the pounds!

Same as above, use his kibble if you feed that.

If he is coming at you growling and barking, just ignore him completely. It's called extinction, if there is no consequence of a behaviour then it becomes 'extinct' so there must be NO response or at least a neutral response.

Is he confusing NO and Noah ?? It should be down to tone , but if you use the same tone for name and command ??
