Pure staffy...???

Hiya all!

We rescued Lola from a home and was told she was staffy but SO many people have said that she isnt because of her ears and the length in her back legs.

Any thoughts?? What do you think??

doesn't matter as long as you love her but tbh the ears do look a little out of place for a staff, but she is a lovely looking little dog

Her ears looked pricked, ears come in various shapes and drops, rose, half *, full pricked etc When they are growing up their ears are all over the place, one of floyds ears has started flopping onto his head! Whilst pricked ears are not seen as standard, some pure bred dogs do get these. She is gorgeous and i'm sure its not important to her so dont let it worry you

That image shows cropped ears because it is an image used to describe the correct ears of an APBT/AmStaff, not a Stafford. It's a good illustration, though!

She looks very close to a Stafford to me. There are some pure bred dogs that stray from the standard. Doesn't mean that she isn't pure Staff, just means she wouldn't win at a dog show. She is adorable, though, and I'm sure she makes a wonderful pet!

Staffie rescue places list Staffies and Staffy X's as just Staffies usually.

Without being registered and with papers you'll never know if she is pure bred or not. As everyone else said she looks staffy and acts staffy so who cares

She is a lovely looking dog, she has the Staffy brindle colouring for sure, does it really matter so long as she is loved?

I think she looks staffy but like everyone else has said who cares shes beautiful x

She very similar build and markings to my maisy, a few people said her legs we're long for a staffy,i measured her and she's 15" to the shoulder, but then a few people have commented on scooby being "big for a staff", he's 18" to the shoulder, whic i suppose is on the large side but he's all in proportion..
i cant see any other breed in my two and your lola looks staffy to me

you got me wondering now so iv just checked and iv been measuring them wrong...maisy 13" and scooby 16" x

Lola is lovely, and guess what she reminds me of Pixee cos Pixee is long legged too. Hey you guys, theres two lovely long legged girlies on here

It doesnt bother me in the slightest, she's a wonderful fun, loving, mental girl and she's MY girl
I love her and she loves me!
She has her moments! But wouldnt change her in the slghtest!

She's 16inches standing and weighs 15kg

indeed, the purpose was to show different ears shapes,... since its a cross,.. standards dont apply and are only used for showing/breeding

I think it looks like it could be a full but not from a very good line. But she is beautiful non the less!

What do I think? I think she'd look bloody silly with shorter back legs! What a silly thing to say - she can't be a pure staff cause her back legs are too long! They're the right length for her front legs!

Dear oh dear, some people just love to spout nonsense, don't they? Who knows if she's full staff & to be honest, who cares? She look very staffy to me (and absolutely gorgeous with it), and I'm sure that you love her just the same!

She looks pretty good to me. And who cares anyway. Whether she is KC registered or not, you love her and that is all that counts. Tyson has a good pedigree (IMHO) yet he has tits like a female! But he is mine (or should I say I am his) and thats all that matters.

I stopped listening to the opinions of these experts on breeds when quite a few of them insisted Millie was a staff cross when she was a puppy. One guy even told me he was sure his dog was the dad. Even now she is an adult a couple of people have asked

oops, should have said Millie is my older dog, a lab x collie, not the tiny terror in my profile pic

she's lovely. Her ears may not be staffy standard, but they ears can go like this. I was told by kennys breeders while chatting one day, that they ears can drop or * thou teething, Kennys dads ears were like this and so is kennys sister, and their KC registered, xxx

she is a beautiful doggie scarletts ears are starting to go staffie shaped as we thought she would have her dads ears but shes looking more like a staffie every day she even has the beautiful staffie smile
