Hi from Cannock, Staffs.

Hi,

Joining the forum to learn more about staffies. We're interested in keeping a dog so I joined another dog forum to find out if we were suitable and what would be a suitable dog to own. Everyone sang the praises of staffies so that's what we're interested in most. It's not a definite that we'll get a staffie or indeed any dog at all because although my partner was brought up with dogs (labradors) and owned a collie, I've had no experience so I'm trying to understand what's involved and get my head around sharing my life with a dog. I am swaying more towards saying yes, lets get one but still trying to get used to the idea.

I'm Simon by the way, 31. I've been with my partner 8 and a bit years and her 2 children (9 and 12). Just to give you an idea of our family.

We have a turkish van house cat, marine reef aquarium, an indoor turtle pond housing a yellow belly slider, peninsula cooter and a pair of false maps, then there's a leopard tortoise, peach faced lovebird and sea green mutation lovebird, yemen chameleon, blue tongue skink, tokay gecko, bearded dragon, boa constrictor, arizona mountain king snake, mexican red knee tarantula and a pink toe tarantula.

So that's the intro!

Do your research and see how you feel, there all work to some extent, every dog will be.

Some harder work and some not! Ask around and get a feel.

sounds like an amazing collection of pets you have already.

yes staffys are top dogs..full of love..but it definitely pays to do your homework first if you have never owned one.
