haha, well sort of.

was leaving my parents place this afternoon when I noticed the neighbours dog - cav X pug - named Turbo was chasing a car and was very close to running onto the main highway with cars flying past at 100kph ---(I didn't find out till later that he was chasing his owners car as they left the house which he does all the time and then he goes back home which would have been good to know)
I hopped out of my car and tried to call him over but instead he ran across the highway! silly dog. so by this time the 10 year old son, Connor (owner of dog) was out with me and 2 other drivers had stopped and were trying to get him but he was scared and ran further up the road out of sight. Connor said he would come home eventually but I wasn't convinced so he went back and I drove up the road to find Turbo... came to about 5 cars with their hazard lights on blocking the road and trying to coax the dog over all the whiler Turbo is running scared.
I was embarrassed and didnt want people to think he was my dog haha but I pulled over and got Russell on the lead and walked over, squatted down and called Turbo over (he LOVES Russell they have played before) then i grabbed him and chucked him in my car and every one said well done!

Silly dog .. they usually keep him in but the kids were having a party and Turbo was allowed out of his pen - If I hadn't tried to catch him in the first place he probably would have just wandered home but oh well! I got him!

It scares me to think what could happen sometimes when dogs get out.

Thankfully you were around and able to get him under control. I think someone should have a word with the owner and let them know that he had got out. The poor dog could have been killed in the traffic.

Was the childrens party being supervised by anyone ??

childrens as in 16 year olds I think
The parents I think had just popped out to grab something from the shops.
They are friends of mine and I know they are aware of Turbo chasing the car as they leave, I think they have got a bit... lax I suppose as he hasn't been hit and has got out a few times. I agree though, I might have a chat to the mum on facebook an let her know, Conner will probably tell her what happened today.

as I said, they do keep him in a yard mostly, but I guess cos the kids were all out in the yard they thought he'd be ok.

PS- they live in the country/rural setting so fences are just paddock fences, barbed wire etc
