Hello Another new member!

Hi My name is Jill and I have 2 staffies. One, Stan, is a cross with a English bully and he is a senior citizen now at 12. The other one is Lottie and she is 6 but still thinks she is 6 months. What a nightmare she is! I could write a book on how naughty she is! But I have learnt so much about dog behaviour thanks to her! I now know I am to blame for so many of her ways and I wish I knew then what I know now! But having said all that a day doesn't go by when she doesn't make me smile and she has the sweetest temperment of any dog I have ever met. They are both my babies

I'm sure there must be a way to post photos but I havent worked that out yet.

Also If anyone has actually reads this perhaps you can tell me if its normal for an older dog to need feeding more. Stan seems to always be scrounging for food. He hasnt got worms. I don't want to start feeding him more as he has Hip problems and we need to keep his weight spot on to prevent any problems but he just seems hungrier these days. He's not losing weight either. so what sort of things does Lottie get up to? My old bolier Jethro ( 13 in July ) has been a shocker over the years...he has chewed up, shredded,destroyed and demolished so many things....
In answer to your question Jethro is really hungry gutted too! He is always scabbing around for food too!

Welcome to the forum from me and my girls Kita & Izzy

My older girl Kita is 15yrs and although she can't hear or see very well anymore, her nose works three times as hard to compensate I'm sure of it.
I reduced her intake due to the fact that she sleeps so much these days and exercising is limited due to her arthritis. I changed her dry food to senior over the last year. She eats a lot slower lately due to her teeth being pretty worn. But none of that stops her from thinking she needs to eat all the time.

Thanks for all your advice. Not sure how to reply to a particular person but as for things Lottie got up to I think top of the list is removing all the stair carpet into a pile at the bottom then eating the underlay on more than one occasion! we are on our 4th stair carpet! A friend took her shoes off when visiting once and we later found them shredded in the garden! Somehow getting into my wardrobe and eating 3 pairs of brand new shoes bought for my holiday but leaving the old trainers intact! Brand new cushions torn to shreds and covered the front room floor in fluff, 3 quilts completely emptied of stuffing, I thought it had snowed in the bedroom!! And thats just a few things, I often ask what terrible thing we did to deserve her (only joking). I think I have worked out the uploading of photos, so will give it ago. And thanks for the advice on Stan and food x
