We normally always have one just not this year. We were too worried that Suki would eat the tree or at least the decorations. She should be trustworthy next year though

Sorry to brag but we have butler to hand the pressies out and one to open each pressie and we open them just before Christmas dinner (very tongue in cheek)

(Christmas main meal is usually lunch time in South Africa and we are 'The Butlers')

When I was kid we had to wait until my mam got up to open our presents, she always worked christmas eve night. It used to kill us waiting that long. Although we did open our stockings as soon as we woke. Then my dad would make us brekkie and take us for early morning church service and by the time we got home mam was normally up. We still had to wait for her to bath, get dressed and hoover.....yes hoover.....the living room!!!
My mam was normally getting in from work when we were waking up to open our stockings, but we were always sent back to bed because it wqas around 2am

With the kids now, they open theirs as soon as they wake up. Then they have brekkie and leave us in peace all day whilst they play with everything!

The oh must be commoner than me though, as he is always up at 4am sitting downstairs on his own waiting for us to wake, normally by 5am he can't contain the excitment any longer and comes to wake us!

Eve though the youngest now knows Santa got ill one day and sadly never recovered we still plan on a 6am start so Tilly can have her fun. Her pressie bag is bigger than everyone elses these days and when we are done all that we can annoy all of the family (all big kid owners so late slepers) by phoning them all up singing xmas carols at 07.00am

We do all the celebrating on Christmas Eve here in Norway - first dinner and dessert (and a nap) and then presents.
