Hello Board! Got my staffy November 6th :-)

I'm Josef. My wife and I are from California and we got our white male Jaxon on the 6th of November.

He is currently 16 weeks old and a ball of energy.

I have a question though.

Can anyone tell me how to get him to walk on a leash. He will follow me off leash but he will stand firmly planted and refuse to move once his leash is on.

Welcome from another Cali Staffy owner! You will have to put it on and pretend it isn't there. You will want to start with only a few minutes and work your way up from there. You can offer a treat to take his mind off of it. He will get there but it is weird for them at first.

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. Keep the collar on him the house for increasing periods of time. You can also add the lead in the house. Let him walk around and follow you like normal and when he gets going pick up the lead.

Treats also make for good bribes. Hold the food in your fist, let him smell it and then start walking.
