You can try distracting him with food or just catch him when he is sleeping after exercise.

i feel 4 u haha! The best thing i found with kaos was to sneak up on him after a walk and get them in before he knew what was going on!

well i caught him this morning at 6am whilst he was still half asleep, the problem was getting him to come near me again so i could wipe inside his ear when the "stuff" had loosened. we had "chase me round and round the garden" games for about 15 minutes.not sure he will fall for it again tomorrow morning!!

Did you try to motivate him with food after a few minutes? suki will let almost anything go if there is a treat involved. It is a difficult situation though, hope everything works out for you.

Canaural??? I don't envey anyone that has to deal with a wriggler with eardrops, like mentioned, one ear is one thing, the second is a totally different kettle of fish. As for trust, it took a little while afterwards for Lola to realise that when I was calling her it didn't mean a wrestling match followed by me squirting runny stuff in her lug holes. How did you get on in the end, I had to sit in the garden cross legged, one wrapped over her back just above the tail, the other wrapped around her chest above her legs so she was in a sitting position, inside of my elbow under her chin and gripping it, holding the ear to be treated up with the hand from that arm, leaving the other free to squirt and rub...............that worked for the first ear, second ear was where the fun began.... at wits end

mambo was horrible at the beginning of using the ear drops. now he seems to accept we have to do it, so he lets me clean his ears etc... but at the beginning me and my OH had to be there together - one to hold him and his head and another one to apply the ear drops... wasn't easy!
we didn't do anything in particular to make it easy.. maybe few times we tried at the end of the day when he was tired and falling asleep and this helped, but in general, he just got used to it.

Oh yes, and she twigged really quick, if I sit down in the garden and call her she looks at me as if to say, 'yer right, I know what you up to me ol' mucker', there was no way I would do it in the house, as soon as I let her go she would be shaking her head, spraying any that hadn't got all the way in the ear. That Canaural is some very effective stuff though and it cleared her infection up very quickly. Which reminds me, I will have to get some weekly drops from the vet when I go to get her next lot of worming tabs as the Canaural is nearly done, I have been applying it weekly just to keep her lugs clean as the vet told me this is a regular thing with Staffords, and using a weekly drop would turn out to be a lot cheaper than another vet bill.

I just cleaned out Nemo's ears he had a lot of dirt in there so i took some cotton and olive oil.

I did what you did waited until he was sleepy and put down some food to grab his attention. It worked out fine.

But he is used to my touching his ears and he loves having a good scratch at them.

So he just enjoyed it.
