hi all

sorry havent had chance to get on properly , work been busy so been tired after work!

any way it was fine i was very nervouse and well terrified as met his best friend her mum , brother , dad! plus 2 other female friends his 2 old school friends and one of their girl friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they were nice , had a meal and a few drinks and saw him again a couple days later plus again for pudding tonight! and no ladies that not what people are calling it these days lol

I'd just sit her down and tell her that you met a really nice man who you've seen a couple of times. Ask her if she wants to meet him & leave it to her.

wish it was that easy i even thought about saying that i cant see him again but i like him ............................................... why is nothing simple for me lol

she can be very over protective which i know all mums are but she left the family home years ago and i became very independant id stay out at mates over night ect and well it was none of her buisness and i find it hard that she wants to know my buisness.

i cant always talk to her , example is was off work with stress and depression i told her it was a babd back as i didnt want a big deal made of it

I know mum's can be over protective, I'm one of em after all!

Although you're your own person & you make your own decisions, your mum will always be your mum, and she'll always feel responsible for you....that's just the way it is.

However, you need to draw a line between what is prying and what is genuinely wanting to know what's going on in your life. I take it that you're over 18, so whatever you do is your decision - so just tell your mum you've met a nice guy who's kind & thoughtful, and you'll probably be seeing more of him. You're not asking her permission, just letting her know that you've met someone.

For now you don't even have to mention them meeting - let her get used to the fact that he's there!

MY son's 18, now & on his 18th birthday I told him that he didn't need permission to go out or to stay out etc, but he still had to live by the house rules! If he goes out, he tells me where he's going & who he's with & he lets me know if he's likely to be out late or not come home at all! In exchange for that, I don't pry.

Of course, I worry if he's late, but he's an adult with his own life to lead & he has to live it himself.

yeah im over 18 ! ill try and tell her maybe if she knows who im out with she wont be so prying into it all.

ill have to brave at some point as so far we are getting on really well to the point he asked if it was ok he told his ex gf about me as i have spent time with their daughter as well.
