Any advice for Hip displasia?
My 1 year old staff has been diagnosed with hip displasia, unfortunately we had already fallen in love with him before we knew so we couldn't just close our eyes on him because of his problem. I was just wondering if anybody has any advice~
Does it hurt them, if not when will it start to? What is the life expectancy on a dog with this? What can we do to make it easier for him? Unfortunately, surgery is not an option for us... the money is out of the question . So we want to do everything we can to ensure he has a happy life

I don't have any experience with this firsthand but it is a risk with bully breeds.
Here is some good information:

If surgery isn't an option consult with you rver on which medications or supplements are recommended. Try to stop him from jumping and if you can try to avoid hard surfaces during walks.

Oh I'm sorry to hear this Rachel, poor Buster. I haven't any experience at all.
We have talked about it before;

It may help put your mind at ease a little

Re: Any advice for Hip displasia?
Firstly, don't despair! It may not be as bad as you're probably thinking right now!
Don't completely stop his excercise! He'll need to keep the muscles & tendons around the hip joints nice & toned. No high impact exercise, though (running up/down hill, jumping etc).
Try contacting one of the homeopathic animal care websites and ask for advice so that you can minimise medication (as most medication does have side effects). Have a good long chat with your vet as to what options are available regarding treatment.
How bad are his hips? If they're not too bad he'll probably only feel discomfort after heavy exercise. If they are quite bad then they will become painful & stiff, but this can be controlled either with meds from your vet or homeopathis treatment.
If he receives the proper treatment & tlc, there's no reason why he should suffer particularly & he should live a long & happy life.
