Greetings
Hello my name is Magnus and I'm about to be a staffordshire bull terrier owner (within weeks) I have had bull terriers and german shepherds for most of my life som im quite acustomed to dogs.
I'm 27 years old and i live with my girlfriend of 7 years in denmark in a house.
I joined this site to work out the kinks of being a staffy owner and finding usefull information .
However I have not yet decided if i go with a bitch or a male-staffy.
I would be very glad if you guys could post some pro's and cons, I usually take care of my parrents (bitch)dog when they go on holidays for weeks at the time so at the moment I'm weighing towards a male.
Anyway nice to meet you all.

Re: Greetings
Hi from me and Rocky. Some people say that a bitch is easier to train than a dog but I don't know about that. Rocky has been very easy to train.
I used to have a bitch G/S x Labrador when I was younger and she was OK too. That doesn't really answer anything for you.
Trust your instincts, I guess it is down to personal preference really, who ever catches your eye on the day. Look out for any health problems etc. Good luck

Re: Greetings
Hello & welcome to the forum.
Good luck on finding your perfect staff whether it's a dog or bitch.
I've had both males & females over the years & I prefer males. I like the strength & power both physically & mentally, but I've also loved the bitches I've had - they have femininity and are aften a little easier to control.
I suppose it comes down to whatever you feel more drawn to when you see the pups for the first time!

Re: Greetings
from me and my girls Kita & Izzy both girls.
Up till the last 22 months I have always had a female staff and a male "other breed". My hubby did not want another male dog, so we ended up with a 2nd female staff beginning of last year. Having read many posts on here re having 2 females (I knew 2 males were not a great idea), I'm not sure I'd allow him to sway my judgement so easily next time.
If we decide to add another staff to our home down the track I think I'll have to go with a male this time even though I've always chosen girls.

Hi and welcome from me, Millie and Bella, they are both female but different breeds. I've always had females whether its dogs or cats. Decided on another female after reading up on staffies and reading they were easier to control as Caryll said

They are all pretty nice looking. I do like the milk dipped toes on number 1. However, I believe in picking a dog based on temperament and personality so I guess you will have to go check them out and see who gets on with you best.

well thats in germany which is remarkably cheaper. There are about 2 kennels in denmark I think. And a puppy is around 2000€/1500£ here.

Big difference to price a good health tested puppy from a good kennel in england would probably pay around £700 so thats good compared to you.

nah thats quite a drive, also Poland is notoriously known for mistreating their dogs I don't think I would buy one there even from a Kennel. Most of the puppy mills in Europe are located there.
