Hello from me and my new pup!
Hi everyone. I got my staffy pup Nala when she was six weeks, she's now eight and a half.
She is doing really well. I have been using a crate and housetraining her with a puppy pad. She has picked it up quickly. The only problem is that she poos in her crate at night time sometimes. I make sure she has done the toilet before she goes to bed and that she gets no food late at night, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. She has never peed in her bed. What can I do about this? It is getting less frequent (for the first few days she was pooing in her bed twice a night -I'd get up and clean it out, put down a clean blanket and she'd have done it again by the morning, now it happens maybe every second night).
She is still very young, will she grow out of it? Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Hiya and welcome from me and Moo. I haven't used a crate, but I really think Nala will just click one day and not use it as her toilet. I have heard you can also make the crate a little smaller by putting a block up. Its just simple training and as you mentioned its already decreasing. Give her more time

Re: Hello from me and my new pup!
Hi and welcome from us and Suki. She is still young and will grow out of it. Is the crate partitioned so she has a seperate bathroom area?

Re: Hello from me and my new pup!
Maybe getting up in the middle of the night and take her outside for toilet. Shes still a pup so their organs are little, so they go to the toilet a lot more then adult dogs.

Re: Hello from me and my new pup!
from me and my girls Kita & Izzy. I agree she is very young and only just learning how to toilet on que. Have you changed her diet since you brought her home? As you said it's less frequent already, so give her a little more time and she'll get there.
She looks very cute in your avatar pic

Re: Hello from me and my new pup!
Hi from me, Millie and Bella. Bella has quite a large crate so she has a puppy pad on one side and her bed on the other. she did poop in there the first few nights but hasn't since then, she does pee in there but only on the puppy pad now.
