I'm on holidays!!! school holidays for the next two weeks, being a teacher, I get them too! being a relief teacher I also have the luxury of making my own holidays so I am taking an extra week hahha yaaaay!
e
I'm going to start my holidays with getting fit! i am planning a trip to Africa in january, which involves trekking in the mountains of Uganda in search of Gorillas, I need to train so I can handle it! then we are heading to the plains and craters of kenya and tanzania to spot the big 5 (lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos) and hopefully many more animals! I can't wait!

Sounds great. Could you fit a small person in your suitcase? Only 5'2 and fairly petite.
Don't forget the camera. Hope you have a lovely holiday wave Cool

thanks guys! I'm very excited about Africa, in the process of finding a new camera to take with me, any recommendations? I am selling my DSLR for something more simple, a high performance wide lens compact camera.

looking at the nikon Coolpix L120 but read some bad reviews as well as good. its hard to chooose!!!!

I love Nikon cameras. My husband has a film SLR and a DSLR (he was able to save all of his lenses... very cost effective!) I, on the other hand only need a small camera. I, too have been looking for a new and more compact camera. Olympus have a really good range of cameras with great reviews ( I stick to Nikon, Canon and Olympus because these manufacturers concentrate on making good cameras and not so much branching out into other electronic areas.) The L120 is a really nice camera and a decent price, the other I would recommend (a bit pricier, but more compact and a bit retro looking) is the Olympus SZ-30MR. I am considering it for m next camera Smile
