My car Empty My car

Post by Guest Fri Sep 23 2011, 12:27

Well, you may remember that my car broke down. We finally had it assessed & it ain't good news. The engine is completely b*ggered!

So, new engine would be about £2500 plus fitting - no way, it isn't worth that sort of money.

Reconditioned engine would be about £1000 plus fitting - uh, uh too much.

We've gone for a 2nd hand engine (only 21,000 miles on the clock) which cost £260 & the garage will fit it for about £800. So it'll cost us about £1100 but it's worth £1750 - £2000 trade in price so it's worth it in the long run.

Luckily I got a £750 tax rebate recently which I haven't spent yet, so the cost isn't too bad - bad enough, though!

Cars are abit like doggies aren't they.

Buying them is the only the beginning..then you have food, vet bills, etc etc.....for the rest of your life..

But I would rather have my doggies and be poor anyday!! Smile

Ouch, I am dreading Wednesday, my car is going in for its MOT, have a feeling the bill at the end is going to make me choke, and stupid me didnt put her student bursary forms in last month, so am £500 down this month and will probably be the same next month too silly me! So its my own fault if this comes back and bites me lol
