candy trying to be a mum
my sbt candy is trying to mother our rotties puppies and the rottie lets her.
shes 8 months now would she start producing milk, because when i was younger my friends sbt would do it and produce milk and she has never had a litter?

I don't know for sure but I'd think not. I've never heard of that happening before.

Its very common for bitchs to come into season around the same time produce milk when another bitch has had pups when their in a pack situation, in the wild if the actual mother of the pups goes off hunting another female of the pack can look after the pups though not always feed them but they release the chemical that makes them broody in a way so
they feel the need to look after the pups and
not see them as a challenge and try to kill them.
So it is normal but bear in mind that milk your sbt has and what the mother actually has for her pups are very different and does not contain all the nutrients the pups need.

She is indeed but the information under the avatar may be out of date. but even if it is out of date she is still pretty young only being 12 months.
