Injured A quick walk along the foreshore

Post by Guest Tue Sep 13 2011, 09:46

Went for a walk after work on Sunday and found this great spot, but there were so many families with little kids we kept our girls on their leads. Walked down to this little beach, Trevor lets Izzy off and she runs straight out into the water and suddenly realises the ground has disappeared beneath her. Surprised
Fortunately she worked out how to swim very quickly & with much splashing managed to turn around and get back to solid ground. I didn't even have time to get the camera out of my pocket as I was panicking that much and ready to jump in after her. She only played in the shallows after that Laughing

On the walk back Kita was lagging and getting tired, so I picked her up and carried her for a short distance. When I put her down this little boy & girl around 5yrs of age asked me if they could "pat the puppy?' Kita just stood there and lapped up all the attention. They dragged their dad over with their 2 yr old brother and he thought that was great too, till Izzy walked up and sat down. She was nearly as big as him, wished I'd had my camera on to catch the look on his little face. Luckily Izzy just sat there while the dad explained to the toddler with a wink that Izzy was the same as the puppy, probably just bigger like the boy's brother.

Great pics. Looks like the girls had a great time....and great that the kids made a fuss over them.

Was this along the South Perth Foreshore somewhere ?

Great photos, nice to hear a walk which resulted in children stroking and loving the dogs. Tinkerbell is the same height as my boy Harrison who is 2 so I have a great image in my head of Izzy and the little boy.

Actually it was nice to have an adult show some initiative with teaching his kids how to react around dogs. He was thanking me for my time and apologising for his kids interrupting our walk, while I was thanking him for his time and the fact that he wanted his kids to learn the right things. Kind of like a real "feel good moment" thumbs up

loved the photos Lee.. especially the last 2. Dear old Kita plodding along while Izzy flys past her flat out!! And then the look of contentment on their faces in the last photo!!
