Re: Guineapig
thats a hard one to answer it all depends how well hes been socialised with other kinds of furry animals mine has been round my rabbit since he was 6 weeks old and he pays no attension to it
but i still wouldnt leave him in the garden with him alone
and as for him being allright around the hutch and run if he not into furry animals i dont think a rabbit hutch or run would give them a great deal of protection(sad fact but true) but hopfully he will be well versed in all animals

Bandit never took any real notice of my sister-in-law's rabbits. I think he thought they were just weird dogs!
Dempsey would eat them.

Re: Guineapig
I have a hamster and last night Moo knocked her ball open which took me about 10 mins to notice! She left her well alone, and I eventually found her! but I agree its the dog. Mine was a rescue and I have heard that if the animal "prey" smells of home then they won't touch it. Worked in my case but I may have just been lucky!

Re: Guineapig
I think it all depends on the prey drive of the dog.
Blue chases my cats all the time. He never learns.....the cat will run for about 5 seconds, then stop turn round at which point the dog slams on the breaks and starts to moonwalk. If he doesn't start backing off quick enough the cat will give him a swift clip on the nose.

Re: Guineapig
I agree that it depends on the drive of the dog but Staffies are very responsive to what their owners want. Both Teddy and Bella will try to catch anything that move on walks like rabbits and squirrels. Yet happily coexist with the rabbits we have at the moment - infact earlier on today Teddy, Bella and our two rabbits were running around the family room together. We used to have Guinea pigs about 4 years back and Teddy (we didn't have Bella then) was great with them. Here's a pic with Teddy and Chocolate.

Re: Guineapig
Thanks - I think Ted would have quite happily stayed there all day with Chocolate.
