Lemmy's chills
well after his chill he got the other day after being caught in the rain we are taking lemmy to be fotted for a 2 in 1 coat. detachable fleece lining and a lined rain coat outer. this will do him no matter what the weather through the winter months then. gemma has also gone into town to get me some wool and i will knit him a couple of jumpers. i always thought that people put clothes and coats on their dogs for show but i now owe those people an apologie they put them on out of necessity LOL will post you some pics of his new jumpers when i ahve knitted them. good job i like knitting and crocheting isnt it.

Aww bless I used to laugh at people who put coats on dogs untill I too got a dog now I understand why lol Ty loves his coat in the winter he looks like a tool in it but hey it keeps him warm.
I look forward to seeing some pictures.

Re: Lemmy's chills
Ruby has more clothes than me! Ok some are for show but can't beat her coat (for the rain) her hoodie (for the wind) her sun dress (for the sun) she has socks (so she don't slip in the laminate) and a dressing gown ( for when she has had a bath)....think I may have said too much LOL xxx
Re: Lemmy's chills
Carla I think you may have lol sounds like Ruby is one spoilt pup but bet shes worth it isnt she lol.
The socks sound like a great idea though Ty skids everywere on our floor.
Are there any pics of her all dressed up? Would love to see lol x

Re: Lemmy's chills
I have one of her in her hoody, I don't know where the others are I may have to take some more ......
Re: Lemmy's chills
well thats a lovely hoody but sorry i refuse to pay the prices. i dont mind the coat but anything else i won't pay the price. a 100g ball of wooll is £1.10 this jumper isnt finished properly this was just to try it on before i did all the neckbands and button bands. it does the job. i have some black and brown wooll so will make him another couple. proper pictures when he is awake and the jumper is finished

Re: Lemmy's chills
I haven’t though about Frank feeling the cold!!! But come to think about it, he doesn’t like being out if there’s a wind and even more so if its raining!! but im hoping he gets used to the rain because i LOVE being out in proper heavy scottish rain!!!
I was rubbing his belly last night and noticed the hair on his chest is very short and thin so I think I might just be investing in a little jumper/coat for my boy!!
Where did everyone get their jumpers from??

Re: Lemmy's chills
I made Violet some hoodies out of (human) t shirts. Problem is, I made my own pattern, so I'm still finding it hard to judge what size to make the head hole, and sometimes she ends up looking a bit 'boyband' with her scoop neck outfits

Re: Lemmy's chills
Moo has a 'Rambo Dog Rug', http://www.horseware.com/site_flash/dogrugs.html
she only needs it when very cold or wet, but if you want something thats robust, and does the job I highly reccomend it. It just showers off when covered in mud. IMO jumpers are useless apart from looking cute in the house!

Re: Lemmy's chills
i knitted the one lemmy has on and am in the process of knitting another brown hoodie for him. i am going to get him a coat there is a 2 in 1 i have seen fleecy lined rain coat witha detachable extra fleece lining. the jumpers will do for the damp says to warm him up after a walk. he got a reall chill after getting caught in the rain and we arnt even in proper winter yet so god knows what he will be like if the temperatures and ice are like last winter. better to safe than sorry but the prices are silly that why i'm knitting. a jumper take sone ball of wool at £1.10 per ball. a jumper to buy is any where from 12 to 18 pounds.

Re: Lemmy's chills
But a knitted jumper, all being very cute, will only make him colder if it gets wet I would invest in something that works and lasts. I don't know if Lemmy is like Moo but she can find the muddy places, and loves trampling through the woods, anything thats fleece lined or any material thats not rinse proof would be binned every time!
