Re: Human Hiccups!!!!!!
I hate hiccups!
I get them every so often - I've tried holding my breath/something cold down my back/drinking icy cold water/sudden fright etc & nothing works. I usually just have to wait for it to go on its own!

Re: Human Hiccups!!!!!!
I have found one on the interent that works most of the time... hold your breath, then swallow, don't let any air out and try to breath more in, swallow, repeat until you cant hold your breath any more.

Re: Human Hiccups!!!!!!
I know this one!
When you get hiccups, hold your arms straight up in the air and have someone tilt a drink to your mouth. Drinking while you lift your diaphragm (by lifting your arms straight up) gets rid of the hiccups. My GP told me. And it works. You're screwed if you're on your own, but if you have someone with you, thats alk you need to do and it really does work

and one more for the road, or I'll have yours too.
It could well be the alcohol you drank while blasting your neighbours with UB40 last night
Seriously, the only thing that ever works for me is panting as in "labour - giving birth". I suppose a paper bag might work as well. I think it's all to do with the exchange of O2 and CO2 in your lungs (or something like that), I failed physics
