I'm sure Lemmy will have a great time on the long walk. Good to hear he also has a ride for when he gets tired.

Re: miss my lemmy
Nice place, when I was a kid that was a big day out as we lived on the southern edge of the metropolitan area and it took well over an hour on a loooong (boring when we couldn't take the dog) country road to get there. Nowadays Vic Harbour itself is huge and the metro area almost extends to it, well it seems like it does anyway:lol:

Re: miss my lemmy
she's been there for 24 years now. the first time i met i was in labour with my son her first grandchild. i had gone into labour and the hospital said i could stay or go home cos it could take a while so i got up and went home cos we had to pick the MIL at the airport the next morning. i wish i had stayed though cos she fussed (which she would all day and in the state i was in it got on my nerves. she comes back over for visits every couple of years and has been back for the birth of all her grandchildren and her own childrens weddings. she's not a doggy person and as we all have dogs she has been licked to death and had to smile through it LOL makes me laugh looking at her face

Re: miss my lemmy
You've done well, you've managed to occupy your day and do things you might not have been able if he was around.
You've also come to the conclusion that he is not perfect but you would not change him for anything on earth but a few hours to yourself are sometimes necessary, including sitting down to a nice cold bevvy while relaxing and waiting for him to come home make everything fit into place

Re: miss my lemmy
hope Lemmy had a wonderful walk, and I hope some photos were taken!!
I too am from Adelaide... was born there, and we had many a wonderful Sunday drive to Victor Harbour. I took my hubby there a few years back, to show him places I had grown up as a kid, and we walked across to Granite Island.

Re: miss my lemmy
dogalog your right he's my pain in the bm and i missed hiim but it was lovely having the time to myself without falling over him every time i turn round. think we will both get over this seperation bit and be able to go without each other a bit more in the future. thats the trouble when they bring you a puppy you mother in and with my kids grown up i have no one else to pamper so all that affection went onto the little man and in the long run never did either of us any good. but today has taught to me to let go and i know he will have had a good day and wouldnt have thought of me omce till he walks in the door.

Granite Island.......
Walking along the jetty to Granite Island on our first date........
Discussing life, ....laundering and ....teenage kids WTF...
OMG, What am I in for (where's that supposed friend who introduced us......)
It could have seriously gone so pair shaped, but he rode a decent bike, had a dog (his son's JR..... ) loved Kita from the second he set eyes on her....
and here we all are 8 yrs down the track with 2 stafffs Kita & Izzy and I still all of them, most days.

Re: miss my lemmy
Julie, I'm sure he thought of you especially when you were the one giving him cuddles at the end of his long day.
There is nothing wrong with giving all your attention to your gorgeous boy, it's what all us girls do BTW

Re: miss my lemmy
i know the feeling there is one particular saturday lunch years ago i have sometimes thought i should have stayed in LOL but if it werent for them we wouldnt be where we are today. my kids are my world no matter how old they get and the dogs we have had have been my babies and lemmy still is a baby. one american lady called our dogs our permenant preschoolers LOL this pic will be me again tonight cos he never sleeps on his own. i have a bad back (yes i know the gardening hasnt helped me today) and sleep propped up on the sofa cos i cant lie down so he takes advantage of the all night cuddles

Re: miss my lemmy
listened intently about their day as you do to be polite LOL they had a wonderful day. the OH did the walk and now has a sore foot. they left our house at 5:40ish picked up 2 of the other men on the way and one of course had to sit in the back of the car on the way there and so was seriously licked and pestered by Lemmy who insited on trying to sit on his knee dispite the seat belt strap not letting him so his harness twisted round and had to be fixed (think it needs adjusting) they arrived at the start at 7ish and met up with the other dogs and they had a play then they set off. lemmy insisted on rolling on the grass and exploring everywhere on full extension on the lead. at 11:30ish lemmy had had enough and laid down. thats when he was put in the van and the driver fussed over him. he had a drink and something to eat the went to sleep on the passenger seat. he got out the van at the pit stop and had a bit of a play with a big dog (the others sat nicely as they were starting to tire a bit. hw swapped places with another dog and it rode in the van while lemmy walked for a bit more. in the end the van had 3 dogs at a time on the journey. he came home and ran in the house had a fuss for a couple of minutes checked out the garden a bit cos it seemed different then went to bed where he has been since. it is 3:30am and he is snoring in his own bed and not on my knee so he must be tired. he had a wonderful day and as usual my OH is allergic to cameras LOL so sorry no pictures the only one there will be is the official group shot before they set off.
