Hi everyone!

I have a 5yr old half english half american staffy Frankee

He chases his tail and licks his paws (he has been diagnosed with doggy OCD)

Would love to talk to anyone with a dog with similar issues and would love any tips!

I have tried everything to help his paws and stop the tail chasing.

Thanks

Christie

Hi & welcome.

I think the only thing you can do with OCD is to distract as soon as the behaviour begins. Also, try to watch & see if there are triggers for the behaviour, and step in with some training or a game before he starts to spin or lick!

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. Is it possible there is a bacteria build up on his paws that is causing the licking?

you could put a dog friendly but disgusting tasting thing on his paws. I'v seen an extremely bad case of the licking of paws where they have become raw...literally no skin left.
Distractions/corrections would be best for the spinning thing i think.

Welcome aboard! Bitter Apple Spray may work on the paws.

Hi and welcome.

Could you try some rescue remedy drops in Frankee's water and food?? It can sometimes work wonders to calm down a highly strung doggie.
