Introducing Maddie to Moo......suggestions?
Hi All
Well its a week on Saturday I finally get to bring Maddie home from the rescue centre and I cannot wait....
But I would love some advice on introducing maddie and moo for the first time in the home. They have met in a outside walking situation but thats it....is it best to take them both on a walk and then keep them both on the lead in the house to allow them to get use to eachother or should I just let them run around in the garden.
I know what moo will try and do and thats hump maddie and I get the feeling maddie is the type of lady who wont take kindly to that kind of attention so I dont want that causing a problem. Oh, and moo is castrated and roughly 14 but he likes to think hes a ladies man!! lol
Anyways, any advice or suggestions would be great.

Re: Introducing Maddie to Moo......suggestions?
Straight away rub a cloth all over Moo & take it to the rescue centre & ask them if you can let Maddie sleep with it in her bed - that'll get her used to Moo's scent with her all the time & not just when you walk the. Do the same with Maddie & let Moo sleep with it in his bed.
Then when you bring her home they'll be more used to each other. If Moo is likely to hump Maddie, watch them carefully and if he does, be ready to step in to sort out any problems. I'm sure they'll settle together quite quickly.

Re: Introducing Maddie to Moo......suggestions?
HI & Welcome,I let mine just get used to each other but then again one was a little puppy at the time, give them both plenty of attention and love(i know u will), I'd try to keep a leash on at least 1 so that if there is any trouble one can be taken away. Can u try to put them in seperate but adjacent areas so that they can each have their own space but get used to each other? i Thikn they will soon become fast friends.
One more suggestion, keep their special toys seperate as mine get protective of their special toys, like if Harley goes near Milky, Mia nearly rips his head off(it helped her get through the passing of Nitro and getting Harley).
Can't wait to see pics of your puppies.
