Neighbours! Don't you just love em!
Have had the same neighbour for 15 years, she moved in before I did. We have always owned cats and although she has grumbled occasionally, she hasnt really said much, I know that not everyone likes cats and that I understand.
Since her husband died 3 years ago and she got a new boyfriend, she has done nothing but moan about anything and everything, if I put recycling out the front for the iron man, she complains, when the council renovated my house she complained to the council that the old kitchen and bathroom were out the front. She has put carpet gripper rods on her fence to stop the cats, mine and the whole streets which has caused a few trips to the vet for most of the neighbours. When I told her she said 'tough, i have paid over 80 quid to get more plants'!!!!!!
I have bought the proper plastic stuff to put on the fence, cost me £25 to do her fence, not mine and she had the cheek to ask if I was going to pay for the other side of the fence!!!!
Our garages join and she has a wasps nest in hers which is causing a few problems, she has tried to get rid of it herself and all she has done is wind them up, which gets them angry and doesnt even tell me to not let the kids come out the front door, the wasps were going loopy.
Well I have upset her again, I bought a dog, her face was a picture when I told her, she is not amused, so am waiting for a letter from the council moaning about something. Little does she know I am guinea pig sitting for a week and am picking them up shortly, she is going to go absolutely wild!!!!
Well, thats my moaning done for today
Hope everyone is having a good day xxx

As long as you are allowed the animals then turn a blind eye. Sounds like since her husband past she has turned slightly bitter. Which doesn't help you but you can't pick your neighbours (well you can if you have the money to do do). I know its a bit * for tat, but could you complain the council about the wasps nest, as that isn't fair on anyone Xx

As Janey said as long as your allowed animals then turn a blind eye to her. We are in a housing association 3 bedroom house with a smallish garden, well its big enough for Bruno and when he gets older and go for long walks all the better but we had to write a letter to the housing association before we were allowed to keep a dog and luckily they accepted it
Our neighbour one side have 5 children from 19 down to 7, 1 male dog don't know the breed,1 black female staffy,x mount of cats,x amount of rabbits, x amount of hamsters and a bird, don't really have much to do with them, but we do get on with them and have conversations but the other side well lets just say i have a blue staffy and they have a brindle and they are 6 days apart in age and come from different parts of the county. But ever since we got Bruno and a new car they have been funny, spreading lies about Bruno and my family and the bloke just blanks us all but woman will talk to steve, I daren't talk to her might say something i shouldn't hahahaha but i suppose you can't choose your neighbour but you can choose your friends

I have a neighbour just like that! She drives me mad, shes complained about the kids playing outside, the dogs, a little fire I had in an incineration bin (got a letter from the counsil about that one ) Her biggest pet peeve at the moment, is my boyfriends van. Sometimes he can not get it onto the drive as the people opposite park their cars in a way that means he cant swing onto it. On these occasions, he will park outside the house. She has called his place of work on several occasions about this!
So, i know what its like to have an annoying neighbour. I feel your pain lol I think some people just enjoy complaining.

Thanks for all your replies, really appreciate it.
Just typical that the guinea pigs we are looking after and quiet, haven't heard a peep out of them lol
Just gonna have to ride it out I suppose and not let it get to me.

Re: Neighbours! Don't you just love em!
I hate my neighbours lol. My partner has a bouncy castle business and so has a big van to lug the castles about. He does also have 2 cars which really winds the neighbours up. He was told when we moved here by our next door neighbour that his wife likes to park in front of the steps as she has two small children to lug up and down (she has a 7 year old and 2 year old, we have a 4 year old and 2 year old). We live on a street that has steps leading up to the houses, these are communal so each set of steps serves for 4 or 5 houses. Our next door neighbours live in the first house you come to at the top of the steps, so she thinks she has right to park right next to the steps over anyone else.
She now has such major issues she has confided with our next door but one neighbour who now thinks that it is us who has the parking issue. Ian is happy to park anywhere on the street but prefers one of the cars outside our living room window (which isnt next to the steps) because it has been broken into once, and threatened to be broken into again by the original vandal.
If our next door neighbour comes home and finds a car in her "space" she slams the car door, makes a huge fuss about carrying the children up (my 2 year old can walk up the steps, same as hers lol). Then when she gets in she slams her front door, often late at night when my two are asleep, which shakes our house lol. She has got such an issue with parking, she won't look at me or Ian, and has never so much as said hello to me in the whole 8 months I have been here. And they have 5 cats too, just acquired a kitten. They leave them all out in the garden all day, including the kitten who can't be more than 8 weeks old. And they have ripped our bin bags open constantly in search for food. The RSPCA were at their house last week as the cats aren't in great shape, and the little kitten is full of scabs
Our next door but one neighbour is now not speaking to us either as she believes we are the one with the issue.
My other next door neighbour, the other side, has issues with the fact we have got a dog. She works as a nurse and works day shifts then comes home for an hour or two and goes back out to do a night shift. She lives on her own with a labrador and collie x and is used to chucking them in the garden when she wakes and when she gets home. The dogs are never ever taken out the garden for a walk and are shut in nearly the whole 24 hours in the day When I let Tinkerbell out the other morning, she let hers out then saw Tinkerbell. She screamed at her dogs to get in, then said to me "you do know my dogs can jump the fence don't you". She now lets her dogs out every time Tinkerbell is in the garden, as a way of making a stand that hers were there first. Tinkerbell stands at the fence wagging her tail waiting to play with her dogs, whereas hers bark at ours. She has been put out because she now has to supervise her dogs while outside, and isn't prepared to do that! Such a shame really!
But in the area we live it is much better to keep yourself to yourself!

Re: Neighbours! Don't you just love em!
People are nuts when it comes to parking! Violets dad had so much hassle at his old address with his (admittedly massive and ugly) trucks just for parking in the street. There was no offroad parking and he was paying road tax, so why shouldn't he park his truck outside? People constantly came out and told him to park elsewhere, and one time, someone even spraypainted the side of his truck with messages to 'clean up your mess, pig'! Didn't see them out complaining when the snow was terrible here and he took his 4x4 to collect grit for the whole streets grit bucket when no one else's vehicles were capable of moving...

I've got Asians living next door to me and they sometimes put there rubbish in our bins. I wasn't too fussed the 1st or 2nd time...could be just an honest mistake....but this has happened to us 8 times in the past year
