What do you mean , Which your fav ? English staffy or american ? , dog de bordeauxs real good dogs, Cost fortune, They go for up to a grand, But If you got or can afford the price , I think there worth It , My mate paid £2500 for hes two both, NOT each but for both, From a proper professional KC breeder down london.

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
I'll definitely have APBTs/AmStaffs in the future, but I will adopt them. The shelters in the US are filled to the brim with Pits and Pit mixes. No need to get one from a breeder! I'll always rescue my pets from either shelters, breed rescues, or needy families.
Other breeds I'm interested in are Finnish Spitz (Suomenpystykorva), Basset Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Dogues, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Basenjis, Pharaoh Hounds, Great Danes, and a few others I can't think of now.
And after having Saxon, I would certainly have more Staffords!!

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
Top 3 breeds for me would have to be:
Staffy ( coz they're an awesome breed and I love my girl to bits )
Border Collie ( my last girl was Border Collie....lived to 16 and was a beautiful girl )
Boxer ( coz I think they are so sweet and gentle...another lovely breed )
Anyways, that's my opinion

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
Staffy
Labrador
Pug (I have never had a pug but I think I will have one eventually)
- I like a bit of variety with breeds, I imagine in future that I would only have the same breed once as there are so many I am interested in, but I think if I had a breed more than once it would be staffys or labs.

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
1 stafford bull terrier
2 french bulldog
3cocker spaniel
Always if buying a puppy id research a good breeder who has good lines , health tests, breeding for conformation not profit, and only produces puppies ocasionally not as a buisness these are my terms and id wait until the right puppy comes along Im not supporting byb or poor breeding and paying silly money for certain coloured pups when I know I can get a top kc reg dog for around £600.
All the colours of the rainbow and all the different breeds of dogs are in rescue so id like to rescue and foster one day

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
If money and space were no object, I'd like;
1. French bulldog
2. Dogue de bordeaux
3. Greyhound
4. Newfoundland
5. Neapolitan mastiff
I know that's 5 instead of 3, but it's hard to choose! Met all these dogs at one point or another and they were all excellent dogs.

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
Not counting Stafford as my #1, because they will always come first! Here are mine:
1. Border Terrier
2. Bull Terrier
3. Bernese Mountain Dog
4. Bonus: Chinese Crested
I love huge breeds, but I'm not keen on having them in the house, which is why I'm going for smaller breeds. I know a lot of people say "the Chinese Crested is so ugly!" "Yuck, what is that!?" But I disagree. I actually think they're cute and all dogs have their own unique look and personality, and are all cute in their own way. The Chinese Crested is always disowned and put down just because of the way it looks, and I hate that! I think they are lovable, unique and adorable like any other dog

2. American Pitbull Terrier (But not allowed cos dumb laws)
3. Rotti (But need a huge garden and lotrs of room around the house really)
So only real option is Staffy for me anyway.
Boxers are nice and Douge de Borduox are nice but again need lots of room for such a big dog.

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
Catstina, I agree on adopting them but when I purchased Oliver I had already exhausted my search for a APBT at the shelters. Before Oliver was Clyde. He was a rescue and an APBT he was an absolute epic dog. I can't even talk about him without getting teary. So I bought Oli and then Lola. Love em. As far as that goes... I have owned a boston terrier(Ace, moms dog growing up) a german shepard (Chopper, dads dog growing up) a APBT (Dutchess) mine and the roomates in college(stolen ) Clyde APBT, a Boxer (Buster, ex-wife took him) and my current buddies Oli and Lola.

1. Staffy (Stella now)
2. German Shepherd (my previous doggie, a rescue, I'll never forget her)
3. Tibetian Mastiff or Newfoundland or Leonberger (1 of these used to be my dream years ago so maybe one day )
4. Any dog from rescue, as soon as Stella is adult and calmer I'll see how it goes and I'll adopt a dog from a rescue centre, these are great, breed is not that important I think, but it'll be a Staffie or a German Shepherd

Re: Peoples choice of dogs
I have so many the list would be about 20 but my top three would be;
1) Staffordshire bull terrier-I would like a red or red pied female to pair with my boy.
2) English bull terrier-Love these dogs, would like either full sized or a mini. Would prefer either white with a bullseye patch or a red pied but not too fussed, a bully is a bully!
3) Pug. I would like a black Pug, and call it Coco. I love pugs.
There are also many breeds I admire but would not like to personally own, such as german shepards, english mastiffs.
If i ever bought a large breed dog my first choice would be a rottweiler, i love rottweilers, or possibly an american bulldog.
If it was a smaller breed dog, instead of a pug i might consider a french bulldog, or a yorkie, my nan had a yorkie for years and still speaks fondly of him. I find them to be very sweet little dogs, but they can stand up for themselves, which i like.
The only sort of dog i wouldn't consider owning is a springer spaniel or a labrador. I find them incredibly boring, aggressive, snappy and they seem to lack a distinct personality. Also hate them looks-wise.
