Red nose staffy?

Hi, we have a 20 week old Staffy called Izzie. Upon a walk yest we were chatting to a lady who was a staffy lover who informed us that she is a Pittbull x Staffy as Staffy's do not have red nose's.Is this true?

Do you have a bigger picture of her? .. The stafford nose is usually always Black according to KC code it has to be black .. but it dont necessarily mean shes x pitbull .. was you told she is full staffy or?

A staffy should always have a black nose so she must be a cross with something and like kelly said not necessary pitbull, but something

you'l find people say OH Pitbull x ! because its the most easiest to say .. alot of people dont have the knowledge to say which other dogs she could resemble! so ohh it must be pitbull lol.

if you from the uk it's very likey it's a cross breed and not a pit x staffy

I was told she was a full Staffy when we bought her. She came with what we believe as genuine PDSA paperwork for jabs etc so we thought her to be pure Staff too or would be listed as other? But your right some people assume she is a Pitt Bull or have a scary Staffy story as we walk passed. Have put another pic on

did you get official papers? have you cheack to make sure they are?

if you dont have official papers then she could be staff x lab, 3/4 staffy x 1/4 Dogue de Bordeaux and so on with other breeds with a red nose there are few real pit in the uk....

I agree with steve looking at your avatar it could be Dogue de Bordeaux that she's crossed with, theres just something about her colour and face. Gorgeous non the less

Would just like to say that my last two staffies were pups from the same litter, a brother and sister. The dog was brindle and white and the bitch was red but the colour of galaxy milk chocolate, and she didn't have a black nose it was brown. They were from a well known and reputable breeder who was also a judge at dog shows and a member of the SW Staffordshire Society, he owned both parents who were brindle and white and had won many shows. I had papers for both of them but was not allowed to breed from her because of the nose colour (not that I had any intention of doing so). She was absolutely beautiful and I called her Roseland after the area of Cornwall we loved, but her name was Rosie. She lived to about 13 years of age and her brother was almost 17 when he died.

Thanks Lizzie that's really interesting. We do wonder if she has some 'blue' in her as she has the lightest eyes. Thanks to all for your help.. I will know what to say when the know-it-alls stop me again lol thanks

You can get staffies with red noses if they are 'liver coloured' which is a chocolate brown sort of colour thats not approved by the kc. (For that reason-it gives dogs light noses) She looked to me like a staffy x. I do know of another red nosed staffy x, she is a staffy x labrador. She doesn't have blue in her either, blue is a dilution of black brindle. She is a red which is the opposite base colour. The dilution of red is fawn.

She looks as though she's a liver colour, and livers usually have red noses. I doubt it's anything to do with a pit bull.

Yes it can sadly but its unlikely if you keep your head down, train it well and smile at people. If your swaggering around setting it on old ladies yorkies theres a lot bigger chance of attracting the police's attention. I don't believe it is an apbt but what is known in london as a plastic pit e.g a mongrel bred to look like an apbt by people wanting 'status' dogs. Good job shes ended up in a loving home.

any cross breed that look abit like pit can be class as a type. only time you will get your dog seized is when someone report you the police just doesn't have time to look for type dogs.

Thanks for the info, guys! I haven't lived in an area with BSL since we moved out of Miami, FL when I was 10, so I don't know too much about the specifics.

They does look staffy cross with something, What Im not sure, But dont think shes got pitbull In her, Main thing Is shes healthy, And shes beautiful!

No having a red nose does not mean shes a pitbull! In the standard it says that black and tan and also liver (a diluted gene which leads to the red-nose colour) are undesirable. However that doesnt mean they dont occur!

I would love to see a photo of your staffy now. I have just bought one that looks very much like yours with a liver colour nose and body. I am a little concerned as to the pit bull references, and I hate not having any clear guidelines as to what exactly a banned pit bull is. I was told that his mum is a staffy and his dad is an irish staffy, but now I know that there is no such thing as an irish staffy ? Bit concerned, although we hope to train him properly so that we do not have problems that would allow him to ever be reported.

The Dudley nose I think they're called. I know a dog that looks like yours that's apparently Staffy/Dogue De Bordeaux x. She has a red nose too. There are some pictures of her playing with my Staffy Stanley and a couple of others. Her walker said someone told her they thought she looked like she had a bit of APBT in her but people tend to say that almost automatically these days. She's called Shy but she's anything but and the thump as they run into each other is like a rugby game.

Yeah don't care that much what she is crossed with she has great temperament(sometime a little over the top when meeting people and dogs )but she is only 7 1/2 months old mad as a hatter and as lively as a teenager on speed hope she last me out as it took 2 to 3 years to get over the last staffy I had (saffie 2 this one is saffie 3)I'm 50 so theirs a fair chance lol
