Summer our new pup
Hi all,
my name is Wendy and am mom to 5 kids, 4 cats and a brand new baby staffy called Summer. Have always had my eyes on a staffy, but wanted to wait until I qualify (student nurse 2nd year) but got sort of caught up in the moment when a friends friends dog had puppies, so looked at all the options, money, time and such and decided it was now or never as I would've talked myself out of it yet again.
We were supposed to pick her up in 2 weeks, but mom stopped feeding about a week ago then started snapping at them, so sadly they all had to be re-homed 2 weeks earlier than planned, so is 6 weeks. She is a good size, well she's a chunk, so I call her 'Chunky Butt' god bless her, the previous owners have done really well with them, she is really sociable and very curious, she is half paper trained, the other half is whenever she gets taken short on my floors lol. The cats are not really impressed at the moment but given time I am sure things will work out. She is now curled up next to me lying half on a blanket with her chunky butt on my latest uni assignment, havent the heart to move her, so the assignment will have to wait a few hours and that means i can have a good mooch around this site.
Regards Wendy and the mad house!

Re: Summer our new pup
Thanks all, Summer is doing great and by coming on here have managed to start dealing with the ickle probs and know i am not alone. She is a comicle little thing but has issues with growling and being a bit nasty when you touch her scruff and under her chin, which we (well me) are trying to curb, have a feeling something went on before we got her, so trying to show her there is nothing to be nasty for. She isnt whining in the night anymore and got a bit worried that she didnt wake me up til 8am this morning, shot down the stairs to find her wagging her tail at me, nearly cried, she has followed me everywhere this morning, she found the old cat bed next to the sofa and wanted to sleep there next to me while i was on the laptop, then she found a cat bed in the kitchen and fell asleep there while i was cleaning the kitchen (kitchen living and dining room all open plan).
Am dreading going back to uni in Sept, am even starting a week late (only there 2 days) as i dont want to leave her, even though my neighbour will be coming in to see to her, she has her own staffy so Summer will be spoilt.
Thanks for all your help
Wendy
