My brothers mate

Got attacked by a staff at weekend, he was on the beach with his collie and a staff attacked his dog he tried to stop it and fell, when he went down the staff went for him made a right mess of his face. I know these things happen and any dog can do it but some of the stuff people have been putting on his facebook page about staffs made me so mad I had to send him a private message saying I am so sorry for what had happened but that I would have to block him for a week or 2 because I was getting into trouble answering some of the comments ( I know I should not get drawn in but some were so bad I had to) he was fine about it and said he knows they are not all like that and that he loves Milly but said he would not be sure how he would be around her in future. It has really upset me because he comes ours quiet often for parties etc and if he feels like that he will not be able to, there is no way I could lock Milly out she is part of the family. He has the details of the dog that attacked him and he has to go to the police station on Friday to see what is happening.

Really sorry to hear that Tracie. We all adore our breed, and as you said it could have been any breed, unfourtunatly it was a staff.

I hope he is ok and let us know how he goes on Friday. I'm sure Milly can restore his faith. Xx

Think it is just formalities Janey he got the owners details etc I just hope he gets over it, but some of the stuff they were putting I could not read anymore

Its peoples perception, and a story (as proof!) to go with it. Its the harsh reality of the breeed and image, doubt it would get as many negative comments if it where a lab for etc.

But Milly can prove people wrong Xx

Thats such a shame but yet again the dog should have been on a lead (if in any doubt) owner to blame yet again .
I hate seeing or hearing these things the trouble with a hightened staff is when to stop, I love the breed but am in no doubt what it is capable of.
Seriously the dog needs to be reported for a attack like that and I hope your brothers mate can see past the fear and see milly for what she is a freindly girl

Me to Caryll think it really freaked him out tho plus he had kids with him I think cos he posted pics of his face on facebook people were so outraged i understand that but just could not stand how they were painting the whole breed with the same brush, i had to jump in when they went way to far

That sucks. What kind of moron owner walks an aggressive dog off lead. Any dog would be dangerous in those hands. I hope your brother's mate heals physically and emotionally soon!
