Dempsey's Splash!

Those of you who know Dempsey, also know that he has a real phobia about water. He's never paddles, let alone swum - he won't even go through a large puddle.

We took him along the river nene yesterday afternoon, just for a change, and it was really hot. Dempsey got thirsty & had a little drink, then noticed his feet were in the water. Next thing we knew................

We couldn't believe it - not only did he paddle & play, but he swam as well! It took us 45 minutes to get him out!

Right now, he's spark out on the sofa, sleeping it all off still!

Aw good for him. We still can't get suki to go for a swim Hope he didn't mess the car up too bad.

Awful! But we were so happy to see him enjoying the water that we didn't mind. Gotta clean the car up before the hols anyway!

He did seem to enjoy himself and that's all that really matters. But they do make a mess on occasion

Wonder how he goes with the puddles from now on

We just stood there & stared at first. Couldn't believe it!

Mind you, he blotted his copybook on the way back cause he wouldn't come back when I called him & he chased a couple of gypsy horses - nearly got kicked by one.

Good for you, Dempsey! Bajas didn't put a paw in the water until he turned 4 I think, then suddenly it was nice and refreshing!

And so you should be......it's a huge thing for a dog who has not liked water at all.

Lol glad he has overc ome his fear of water all dogs should be able to have fun in water and swimming is so good for them its a shame for them to missout on it.
