A little bit shook up
Just took Ledger out for a lovely walk to the park I had an ice cream and he sat and watched the ducks then we made the walk home, just getting down the last street and at the last minute I saw a woman ducked behind her front wall trying to put a muzzle on her retriever well he broke free and came straight for Ledger snarling and teeth bared thankfully Ledger just tried to get away but the retriever got his mouth round the back of Ledgers neck with me kinda stuck in the middle at the end of the lead. No sign of the owner who was only a few feet away I shouted "get him off" and managed (in hindsight not a clever thing to do) to get my free arm in between and push the retriever away. Still no effort from the owner to get her dog bar a few feeble calls of his name as he trotted off up the street before coming back again for another go I had Ledger sat behind me at this point and just shielded him as the other dog had no collar or anything to grab hold of. A weak 'sorry love' from the owner was met with me just turning and walking off before I said something I shouldn't in the heat of the moment. I guess I'm not the first tho as I got a few houses away there was a chap putting stuff in his car who was shaking his head looking at the other owner and asked if we were both ok
its just shook me up a bit but Ledger seems fine and in the process of cuddling has just managed to put his paw on the laptop pad highlight and delete half of what I have written

Re: A little bit shook up
some owners should just be banned from owning dogs. well done for managing to handle the situation - hope you are both ok

That's terrible. Are you and Ledger both ok. That's the number one thing.
Some people really have NO idea do they I would've given the owner a mouthful.

My first thought was just to get Ledger out of the way I didn't stick around long enough to see if she had secured her dog, thankfully we are both ok no injuries and happy that despite it all Ledger kept calm and listened to me which after only 48hrs with me I think is a fairly resounding positive
Will be walking on the other side of the street in future but definitely going to take a note of the address

Re: A little bit shook up
good boy Ledger!
in regard to an owner - first of all - no collar, no lead?!?! how can anyone be so stupid?!
I do understand that some people may have aggressive dogs (towards other dogs) but this is when you MUST BE 200% extra cautious!
i feel sorry for you it is so annoying, people like that should be banned from having dogs...
btw, 'a lovely retriever' once again turned out to be aggressive while staffy sat down quietly and calmly...

Re: A little bit shook up
yeah amazing .....if it was a staffy that did that, it would have made the headlines that night!!
if you have an aggressive dog ,wouldn't you muzzle it before you step out the front door.. some people are such morons!!
Glad Ledger is okay.. and you too!
