Christmas question in July? Empty Christmas question in July?

Post by Guest Fri Jul 29 2011, 13:11

This may seem a bit silly but I love Christmas. I like to decorate and my favorite part is the tree. My last dog ate the tree on her first Christmas. Well that's not completly true but the cat we had climbed the tree to get away from her and the dogs solution was to drag the tree to the ground and eat all the lights and ornaments that she could after the cat ran away rolling on the floor

I was wondering how everyone else got along and how their dogs reacted to the tree inside. Suki will be about 14 months at that time. I'm not concerned about the time we are home but more with the time we are away since she has the run of the house.

So that sounds as if you think it is a bad idea? I'm a bit determined but can see it going badly so many different ways.

I am fully mentally prepared for small disators but am a bit wary of the time we're away. I'm sure there are lots of people here with experiences though.

oh i love christmas as well, last year billy was only just 8 weeks old, and we had an artifical one and put it high on a table, that worked.

this year he will be over 1, i am determined to get a real one, billy is so good i am expecting he will ignore it

We have an artificial one because I am way to lazy to get a new one every year. We also have an ornament that has a pic of our dog with the year marked. I'm a bit nervous of doing it with Suki this year because she has sooooo much energy and seems to turn it into being destructive when left alone. I'm very stubborn though so I'll try call me

Sadly I use the only table in the house for my other hobby which is jigsaw puzzles. If it appears she can't be trusted I will gladly give it up for a month or so though.

Since I am too stubborn though I will probally learn the hard way.

I usually work on the 1500-2000 piece range but once I retire I want the largest one possibible. I'm a bit of a nerd at heart and like to figure out how everytihng fits together.

you can get a special board that you can do your jigsaw on and then it folds away

http://www.alljigsawpuzzles.co.uk/porta_puzzle_boards.htm

then you have your table free for xmas

Looked into that. the problem is that I'm sooooooo very stubborn and think that I can teach my my anyrhing and am determined to have a freestanding tree. I know it won't work though rolling on the floor and will post pics of the aftermath. At my age you would think I would know better but .............. :-\\

Laughing I've forsaken a tree since having Moo, she is left to roam whilst I am out and I wouldn't want her to hurt herself, I miss it though Sad Mum bought me a green thing in a pot last Christmas and it's still here, dead in the corner though Laughing

Vinnie's first xmas went very well! .. the only problem he had was a musical santa clause, vinnie didnt agree with him and if it ever went of he would bark his little head off! haha, he was 4months old .. he never touched the tree altho i did often cop him eyeing up the deco's on it haha!.
Skye's first xmas this year, i have a feeling she will be pulling decos of the tree and all sort's haha!
