Re: Bananas
Mine used to - used to have a couple a week. Dempsey does as well, but if he has too many they make an unwelcome appearance at the other end!

Re: Bananas
I am thinking of renting her out as a lumber jack as she can take down trees faster than a chain saw, took her up Scotland last week she saw the sea for the first time went straight in till she got a gob of salt water the spat it out then dragged a 4 foot log tree type down the beach then ran about for a half hour like a tasmanian devil on speed 14 weeks old and she could pull a sledge , i think she is a husky in her mind

Re: Bananas
We give Sophie the occasional grape. She plays with it for ages before she breaks it up and eats it
She does like banana but we just give her a small piece in case of side effects

Great new avatar pic of Tilly.
Kita grew up on bananas and all kinds of fruit when I lived in Cairns. When I moved back to Adelaide she attacked the nectarine tree every summer then last year her and Izzy figured all the peaches on the tree were for them.

i like most kinds of fruit, especially raspberries i pinch the lovely big yellow ones out of grandads garden and there are lots of wild ones around Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest that i help myself to
theres a photo of me eating wild raspberries on this webpage http://foxie.me.uk/FAVOURITE%20WALK%2010.html
old tina used to love them too as well as blackberries and was quite good at nibbling them off the brambles without getting scratched

Re: Bananas
Oh poor Sophie, will not give her any more then. Just another thought, out for her walks she is a terrible 'grabber'. Her favourite things to try and get are cherry stones from fallen cherries.
We do try and stop her though the odd one gets crunched up. Stopping her getting the occasional one is nigh on impossible short of muzzling her.
Any thoughts, chaps?

Re: Bananas
No more grapes for Sophie then. Like I said before she has probably had about four or five in her lifetime. It was only recently I started buying them again as we don't eat them and just got them for son who has recently returned home from living in Greece.
Any thoughts on the odd cherry pip, please? We really don't want to have to muzzle her agianst cherry pips.
I dread to think what is in the stomachs of all the dogs off lead.
My neighbours dog found and ate a dead baby rabbit a couple of weeks ago.
The rabbit had been dead for a number of days as dog owner had seen it dead in the bushes a few days previous.

Re: Bananas
"Apple seeds, cherry pits, peach pits, pear pips, plums pits, and apricot pits contain cyanide, which is poisonous. While a few apple seeds may not cause a problem, the effects can accumulate over time if they are given to dogs regularly. Dogs should not be allowed to chew on a peach pit, cherry pit, apricot pit, or plum pit. Chewing can allow ingestion of cyanide. Chewing could also result in the pit being swallowed, causing continuous exposure to cyanide, or could cause the dog to choke. "
Yeah we used to feed our Jack Russel grapes loads would have a few each day :O , till we found out they were really bad for dogs. Luckly he never had any problems and still living well at my mums.

Re: Bananas
I've never given Saxon bananas, but he finds old black banana peels on almost every walk we go on. I'll look away and look back at him and there's a banana peel in his mouth!! I never see them on the ground before he finds hem.
