Gummi at the beach

Gummi isn't too fond of the water, so we got out the clicker, some treats and a toy and went to the beach. (No wonder, when the two times he's been swimming have been when he jumped into a pond thinking it was grass and when I had to put him down in the river..)

I guess I'll just have to drink it all up..

He got really brave, considering where we started out.

Great pics, he's nearly there. I remember with Moo it was just the first hurdle of getting her past paddling, but now she loves it, throwing a stick in helped Xx

I don't really care if he doesn't swim, I just want him to feel confident going in there to cool off/drink in summer. I know he can swim, and when we're on the boats he wears his life jacket, too. (Makes him easier to get back up in case he falls in the water.)

Thanks everyone! He's a little charmer for sure. 
With another session or two I'm sure he'll feel confident going in to cool off and drink a little, which is all I want. Don't care if he'll ever enjoy swimming or not.. Actually it would be nice if he didn't become a big swimmer, so the Frontline doesn't wear off too soon.

Aww! So cute! Congrats on Gummi's progress!
Saxon won't go in deeper than his chest, I don't think he knows that he can swim. He likes to have his feet still on the ground.
