I would like to know if this is right.
I have found this web page on google and it has some ways too excersise your dogs, and they seem very strange too me! can any one tell me if this info is accurate?
1. A spring poll, basically a rope with a spring so the dog can play tug of war with the wall.
2. Treadmills, i can't really see why a dog would need a treadmill but is this something staffs would like.
this seems strange too me but I have no idea, I'm just doing research into getting a dog at the moment.

Re: I would like to know if this is right.
a spring pole is good but they should not have them till they are over 1 and then the back legs should touch the ground
treadmills are for lazy people who dont take there dogs out (my opinion only)

I agree unless there is a medical condition or you live somewhere the weather is horrible for days on end.

Re: I would like to know if this is right.
As already said, springpoles are good, but not till your staff is physically strong enough to use them - about 12 months or more - and as long as their back legs can still touch the ground.
Treadmills are ok if used properly & not just as an excuse not to walk your dog!

A treadmill could never make up for a walk, when you take your dog out it not only exercises him but also stimulates his mind and lets him use his senses. Being out and about socialises them and gets them used to different situations and environments.
Treadmills do have some use, I know if I was competing my dogs in agility and other staffy-sports at the moment (which I'm not due to full-time working) I wouldnt have enough time in the evenings to walk them feed them, feed me, feed the horse, clean house, clean lizards and fish etc etc and keep them in tip-top condition. To keep them at the level of fitness I like when they are working I would need a spare 2 hours a day to exercise them, a treadmill can assist in helping you get your dog really fit and using them you can increase the amount of cardio which would be difficult on-foot.

Re: I would like to know if this is right.
thank you for all your answers, It seems strange that a dog can have a treadmill too. i guess the spring poll makes sense, but i was thinking when i first looked at it about the treadmill thing and why you would need one, thank you for clearing that up for me!
