Help sky's in last chance saloon :(
My beautiful 2 year old staff is a nightmare at the moment, we've not long moved house and she's decided it's her new toilet, she's now back in her cage any time we are out, the biggest problem is soiling, we can have her outside for ages and even though it's obvious she needs to go she doesn't, then when we come Home she's done it in the house, Other times she's done the toilet outside before bed then we wake up to a present, yesterday she pee'd the couch, also she can't be let off the lead she just runs away, she sits but not for long and usually ignores everything that's said to her, shes well behaved with the kids and is a great dog it's just these things that are becoming a joke,

You have to train her from scratch and it may have upset her the moving.
Time and training will make her into a great dog dont be dishearted start from the begining

Agree, the move will have upset her, her usual toilet space is brand new, back to basics and I am sure it won't take her long to learn.

my bess is the same, it causes arguments in the home, she goes where she feels like, the back door can be open and she will still go in the house, shes 5 now and it drives me mad, shes house trained but still does it, my other 2 staffs will go outside to do they stuff, but not her, iv put up with it for years so know how you feel, it started with bess in her first winter before that she always went outside, it must of been too cold for her royal butt lol, but ever since she goes where she feels like, what i have done is try and house train again, i bought some large puppy pads that she seems to want to go on, and i am moving them closer and closer to the door, see what happens now, but worth a try, hope it works out x

Sounds a bit like when my pug Coco arrived, my one and only rescue. Took her quite some time to feel safe enough to do her business outside (leave her scent). She was often that way in new places, but once she became confident she started going outside without issues. You might try to combine the DAP diffuser indoors and a DAP collar for outside to see if it's stress related? It doesn't work for everyone, but it's helped a lot of dogs/owners.

Hi & welcome to the forum.
Please don't despair! I'd say it's almost certainly related to your moving home. She's anxious & confused, it happens a lot with moving house, I'm afraid.
Try to be patient (difficult, I know) as she'll pick up on your displeasure & it will stress her even more.
As already said, go right back to basics, as though you were house training a new pup. Outside every hour or so, with huge praise if she toilets outside. If she goes inside, ignore what she's done - just pop her outside & clear up without a word. Eventually she'll remember that toilet inside = no fuss, toilet outside = loads of fuss & praise.

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. A new enviroment can be stressfull for a dog. My last dog lived in 7 different houses and 3 different countries and it took her about a month or so to settle in every time. A little longer if there was a long plane ride involved. Patience is a key because if you yell at or use negative reinforcement the dog will just become more stressed.

Turn around anad walk the opposite way. Before continuing on your walk have her sit and wait. You can also hold a treat in your hand and put it in front of her to keep her from getting distracted and focus on you.
