Dogs humping?

While out on our walk this morning we came across 2 staffies, Lola has medt them before, as so they were all off leash. They both have been done and are mature. They both were relentless at trying to hump her, one is female the other male, Lola didn't react although she was scared and just kept trying to sit down then lie down. Another male dog that Lola knows who isn't castrasted came along and didn't bother with trying to hump her and he is well known for trying to himp any dog that is in season. So I know Lola isn't in season any more.

Was it a dominance action?

they sniffed Lola's behind to start with but she didn't sniff theirs. Just wondered why Lola didn't sniff theirs.

I have only ever socialised Lola with dogs over the field, I have never took her to puppy classes.

Did Lola react correctly or should she be sniffing them aswell.

Does Lola need more socialising at puppy class or is this all normal behaviour.

With nbigger boisterous dogs she usually lies on her back as soon as they come over and with smaller dogs she is usually a terror being vocal and asking them to play.

In the end I put Lola on the lead and held her between my legs and conforted her as she seemed frightened and the lady put hers on lead. It was a shame as we were having such a good chat about our dogs, but in the end I had to say good bye as they were just relentless. Poor Lola.

It sounds like dominance - even bitches will hump to dominate.

If Lola's a naturally submissive girl, there's very little you'll be able to do other than getting other owners to stop their dogs from doing it. Really, humping shouldn't be allowed, it's asking for trouble.

Suki will not allow humping. It's the only time I have seen her growl or bark angrily at anther dog. If is a dominance issue IMHO. If it is dog you will socailize with frequently you can try to walk with them beforehand so they will be calmer and perhaps bond.

Lola is submissive all the things you say lola is doing are indicating this.
Only when she feels confident with the other dogs will she sniff them back.
The other dogs were probably humping her either due to dominance or she still has the scent of a season with her, even though they are neutered they sometimes try to mate .
A confident un-neutered dog would realise that she was out of season and not bother trying to mate waste of energy.
A unconfident dog will hump for the sake of it head , back end, tail any just go for it
