Nearly new
Hi All
just thought I'd have a peek through the door and get a bit more of a heads up. I've been considering getting a dog for a while and although I kinda fancied a staffy I always said I would go to a rescue centre and see who I fit best with. Well there I was today only planning to window shop with a view to enquire about when I need to go back if I am looking to get a dog in late August (as I have a week off work for settling in time) and then they introduced me to George a 2 year old bundle of cuddly fun.
Well I took him off for a walk for which initially he tried to pull the lead off me but after distracting him with a bit of leg slapping and running he followed happily and started walking pretty much to heel. The centre want him homed sooner rather than later and pending the all clear for a home visit he will be joining me for plenty of walks and cuddles from next Thursday
The centre said just to get a pet bed and bowls for his arrival as they are supplying an initial small bag of food but does anyone else have suggestions for good chew toys etc before I go crazy shopping in the pet store

I and welcome from us and Suki. I like the Kongs. You can mix up a vegetable paste and put in the freezer and it will keep him occupied for awhile.

Hiya and welcome, I get such a good feeling hearing about another staff in a forever home, nice one. Personally, I'd go shopping crazy!! Until you have him you don't know if he is going to be a chewer, like mine and things last 2 secs, or more gentle and can make things last But we do insist on lots of pics roll on Thursday Xx

Hiya and welcome to the forum from me and Charlie.
I'd be like Janey and go shopping mad! I'd buy lots of toys, LOTS of chews, maybe some snuggly blankets, new lead, collar, harness etc.
I hope he settles in well, and we're all here to help if you have any problems.
Lastly, a HUGE thumbs up to you for rescuing - George is a lucky boy
