Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
Besides video games, whiskey and beer, fishing is one of my favorite things to do. Anybody else love to fish or have any good fishing stories? It's ok if you add a foot to the size of the one you caught.

Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
Not a huge fisher, but I have been a time or two. I used to fish on the open ocean down in Florida with my dad, brother and family friends and it was great. I caught the biggest one (usually a snapper) a couple of times. Haven't been fishing in a couple of years now, though.

Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
yeh they have a good set of razor sharp teeth .
you need to use wire trace on on your leeder as they will bite through mono and braid like a hot knife through butter . also a set of pliers for unhooking .
bait wise , you have endless options , they will take a huge variety of lures . i use rapalas and savage gear soft 4play lures , 19cm is a good size .
and you can also dead bait using makrel , trout , any small ish fish , live baiting is banned in scotland but im sure it will be ok where yoou are and again any small fish you can catch in the same water way as the pike live will make a exellent live bait and you can fish it under a appropriate sized float or free line it . hope thats some help to you mate

Me, my husband Tony, Jethro our staffy and a pal Peter who is an absolutely mad keen fisherman went for a week to Esperance, Western Australia. Peter dragged us along fishing everyday, and caught quite a few salmon in the process. The second photo is Tony.

Mike ....Esperance has some of the best beaches in Australia.. I love walking along them , but the actual fishing doesn't do a thing for me. But yeah Tony enjoyed it though !!

Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
He loves doing it, plus i like him doing as it keeps him off the streets and out of trouble. Usually 4 of them go but Ryan and his friend Ben who caught the 19lbs take fishing seriously and get annoyed at the others as they tend to mess around like boys do, the age we're talking about is 13 to 15 ( my son is 14)

I used to love night fishing beers in a nice warm night you cant beat it.
Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
night fishing in scotland consists of a few beers and a savage attack from the midges

Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
they not killers over here but they can leave big lumps on your arms you have to see my mate they come up like tennis balls when i get bit they only like spots
Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
My oh used to fish in one of the royal parks (can't remember which one) and caught a whopping great pike, the biggest ever at that time.
I went fishing a couple of times, but I found it incredibly boring. I ended up knocking back cans of cider & tripping my then boyfriend up (by accident) and he fell in! He didn't seem to think it was as funny as I found it!

Sounds like some of the rivers here. I think some have sewage or did have sewage run off in them.

Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
i blame on the big companies they been throw their junk away in it for nearly 100 plus years. they cant do it anym ore but the damage is already done
Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
they still do it here. theyre supposed to have "neutralized" the harmful chemicals but do in fact dump the stuff in the rivers. there are signs saying that if you do eat the fish you should only eat a certain amount or none at all.

Re: Any fisherman or fisherwoman here?
I used to go fishing with my hubby, but since having the kiddies ( who are now 14 and 12 ) I have'nt really been out on a proper fishing trip. Not that hubby has'nt asked, but there's always stuff to do at home etc..... Now I just leave the smelly fishing capers to him. He LOVES it.
Thought i'd add a few pics for you
