Meet Treena!
David here but my username is that of my favourite girl. Meet Treena - adopted from the RSPCA about and a year and a half ago and can't imagine life without her. Costs us a fortune in Vet's bills due to pre-existing skin allergies (as I believe is common with gray/ "blue" staffies. Super, no Super-Duper loving, insists on going for the mouth with her licks then rubbing her belly on your lap. Doesn't make any sound whatsoever, never barks, unless you allow an extended period of licking then she kinda forces one out.
She's mega-friendly with all other breeds and the only time I've ever seen her bark "aggressively" was when visiting a relative and their untrained/ unsocialised Bichon Frese was yapping realy angrily at her and ignoring her constant playbowing and attempts to be mates ... after jumping up at me and my partner with a desperate look saying "get me out of here" she eventually jumped on the sofa and barked right back at him and stunned him into silence for at least a second. Then, on the way out the door, he went for her nose. When we got her home she peed her doggy bed and it broke my heart.
I share that anecdote cos I was both in love with and wary of staffies from my research before adopting her. Now i'm a staffy devotee and the misunderstandings around this breed anger me. When we first got her I guess I was kinda cruel in not letting her near any other dogs when out, but now I let her have a frolic and a bum sniff ... she loves nothing more than being chased and can imagine her saying "chase me, chase me" as she sniffs bums.
Anyway, hello, nice to meet you!

Re: Meet Treena!
Hello, and a very warm welcome to you and Treena!
She's a real sweetie isn't she?
The tales told of nastiness are vastly exaggerated as you've no doubt found out. They're actually very sensitive souls.
