Sweaters on staffys
Hey guys,
Just curious if it's safe to let my pup sleep overnight in a jumper/sweater. Not sure if it could be a choking hazzard (although it does have velcro around the neck and belly).

Re: Sweaters on staffys
Do you crate your boy? Is he comfortable to wear the jumper whilst you're around?
I wouldn't be happy with anything velcro fastened, though. My old boy, Dempsey (bull terrier) used to wear an Equafleece Bully Tankie at night in the winter, but they have no fastenings. Take a look...

If you're worried about the sizing, take your dog's measurements (as per their guidelines) and message them. They're happy to suggest a suitable size.
They're warm, comfortable, stretchy enough to be comfortable but not to cause problems & waterproof! I sound like an advert, don't I?

Re: Sweaters on staffys
She does have a kennel and is also comfortable wearing a jumper, I was just a bit worried as the jumpers I have don't have a lot of give. The one you suggested looks a lot more suitable.
It doesn't get too cold where I am, but it's just starting to get down to around 15-16°c. Which I would be fine with other dogs, I'm just a little worried as the staffies don't have the undercoat.
Think I will definitely check out the one you suggested though. They look a little more stretchy than what I have.

Re: Sweaters on staffys
I can definitely recommend the equafleeces. I have several and after many trials, it’s the only winter “coat”/protection that I use.
Their team are really helpful if you have trouble or doubts measuring, like I did

Re: Sweaters on staffys
I've just put in an order for one. The sizing chart was very helpful too. Looking forward to getting it and trying it on her!
Thanks for the tip guys!

Re: Sweaters on staffys
Just a quick bit of advice...you'll find when you get it that it'll be a bit difficult to put on the first two or three times, but it does loosen up, and as your dog gets used to it you'll find it dead easy!
Just remember to put the whole thing over the head & then stretch the fabric to get each leg through. You won't tear it.
