Training with food ration
Training with food rewards obviously requires the daily food ration to be adjusted and reading through some training techniques, they say to use all of food ration for training.
But it is also said not to let a dog trickle feed but to feed x times per day.
So where is the balance between that and feed training ?
Would you keep half of the daily ration for training and give 2x 1/2 portions of feed at usual times ?

Re: Training with food ration
I would be tempted to use some food for training, but I doubt that I would do so much training a day that I would use enough to warrant reducing the meals by any significant level.
I certainly wouldn't use the whole region as training, that would take away the dog's pleasure of having a 'food time' during the day.

Re: Training with food ration
I only use a small portion of Katy's food for training, I can't bring myself to ditch the bowl completely! I use it for 20 mins training & the rest for DMT & magic hand whilst out on our walks
