Character of a staffy
The little girl.i have still a foster Mandy we still not sure if she is a staffy or a staffy x though her face looks like a staffy. What I find though is she does not seem to have a staffy character/temperament as in my experience I have always found them.to be very affectionate which she is not. You have to force her to lie next to you. She is not too keen on kisses or to be held. She also does not follow me everywhere. She also.does not express herself vocally like many staffy's do. What is everyone's thoughts on this?

It may be something from her past is stopping her showing her true character. Do you know her history? Give her time & she will come through

Re: Character of a staffy
Hi sorry didnt reply. No she is a rescue so know very little about her background that is why though we were told she is a staffy we don't even know if that's accurate. Her face kind of looks like it think I did post pics but her body and head does not so it's difficult to.say not knowing her start in life.

Has there been any change in her behaviour since we last spoke? Is she showing any character changes as she's settling in?

Re: Character of a staffy
Past experience can affect present behaviour, but she may eventually change & become more cuddly. She needs to re-learn trust.
Whatever you do, don't force her to cuddle up if she isn't comfortable with it.

Re: Character of a staffy
Hi not much change other than growing taller but not bulking out much. She is very close to the Amstaff and likes him a lot. She is not as nervous as before but still does not come easily when one calls her. Okay so one must not try force cuddling. I thought love can heal all things but hear what you say. She gets jealous though when I pet and kiss the Amstaff and comes and pushes herself between us. He does the same when I used to try give kisses to her. He the Amstaff is not very affectionate but very jealous and pushes in when I even hug and kiss my older girl.

It's good that she has taken to your Amstaff that will help with her confidence She must be growing fond of you if she's getting jealous
