Lickimats
If you like me are trying to find ways to keep your four legged one calm in the heat I recommend Lickimats.
The original ones are like silicon squares with grooves cut in. Basically you smear any concoction on like yoghurt, peanut butter, blended sardines etc and then you can freeze.
They are fantastic!! When we bought the original I thought oh no Misty is going to rip this apart in seconds however to my shock she actually didn't. She stands over it and licks it clean, it takes her a while and its mentally tiring.
Recently we found they have brought out new versions. So now she has a Lickimat bowl which she adores and also a hard plastic one with different levels and grooves.
I've seen that Aldi is also doing their version called a Treatimat.
I can't recommend them enough, I've got a load in the freezer with blended sardines in

Re: Lickimats
I just can't believe she uses them correctly. I would have put money on her trying to rip them apart but no, she uses them exactly as they should be. Right now shes got her face stuck into a frozen bowl Lickimat. Thankfully the frozen sardines aren't smelly!!

Re: Lickimats
My girls have been busy for the past 10 minutes now with a bit of peanut butter smeared onto their mats.
They do sometimes try to bite the mat but I think it’s just because it’s their first time with the mats.
Great to keep them busy, thanks for the suggestion !

Re: Lickimats
Yep you can freeze or just give them as is. They were brilliant for me in the heatwave as they kept her busy and calm for a while. The new versions can go in the dishwasher too so that's even better.

Re: Lickimats
This proves how much I love Misty... I blended up a tin of sardines and put that in her wobble bowl and mat. Eurgh that was beyond horrific but Misty thought it was the best ever!
Normally I just smear a little bit of coconut oil down first as it smells strong then cover that with some peanut butter and finish with natural yoghurt.
I blend up raspberries too and mix with yoghurt and that goes down well. Also we tried just yoghurt with some slides of hot dog. I'm lucky as misty will eat most things

Re: Lickimats
Maisie has one of these and she loves it. Keeps her quiet for ages!! It's supposed to help keep them calm as well by licking.
You can also get ones that stick to tiles in the bathroom so you can bath your dog a little easier- not that Maisie needs that, it's hard enough trying to keep her out of the bath when you're in it
