Boy killed pet staffy.

I've just read about a boy of 15 who killed an elderly lady's pet staffie because it "held down" his family's pet terrier.
The poor dog suffered a prolonged attack by this boy.
His punishment? He was fined £500 and banned from keeping dogs for 5 years but can apply to overturn the ruling in 3 year's time.
Now to me anyone who can hurt an animal like that has something missing, no feeling or empathy. His dog was unhurt. I'm absolutely sickened by this.
