hi everyone
hi we r a new member
coco is the first staffy i have had. I also have a beautiful miniture dax who is more like a kid then a dog she is 9 hates going 4 a walk and would rather ride in the basket of the puchchair. It will be great to go on walks again with a dog. Coco is an amazing little dog though house training is going slow. She is 10 weeks old and is like a bull in a china shop to the kids delight. i have 4 children 2 of which have birthdays in july and nagged us to get a puppy, so here she is....
If anyone has any advise on house training it would be great!

Re: hi everyone
I used to take Milly out to the garden and wait while she did anything and then give her loads of praise It was also helpful having a older dog as Milly followed her alot so she trained really quick

Re: hi everyone
Take her outside when she wakes up, after play and after eating. It may take a little bit but give her alot of praise when she goes.

Re: hi everyone
Hi there and Welcome from me and Roxy
Coco looks lovely.....and I know all about the Bull-in-a-china shop effect
Just be consistent and persistent with the toilet training. Take her out to where you would like her to do her business basically every hour but especially after eating, drinking, sleeping. You will soon learn her warning signs that she needs to go, and can quickly get her out before any accidents.
You can also use a key-word for whenever she does the right thing ( doing her business where you would like her to ) such as "wees" "bizzo" whatever suits YOU and your family. When she does the right thing say your word, and give loads of praise. She will soon learn what the word means and also where you like her to go. You will notice less and less accidents in the house, but it does take time.
Good luck

Re: hi everyone
welcome from me, Kita & Izzy.
I used to walk around and around the yard (got quite dizzy at times) but it does pay off in the long run.
