First Christmas tree
I think I may not be the only person facing the festive season with a new addition to the household.
Any hints and tips for successful cohabitation of festive decorations and new tenants ?
Thanks in advance
P.S. was considering doing without this year as play pen is set up where tree goes but willing to reconsider with a little help from you all

Re: First Christmas tree
We had hank in he kitchen while we put ours up then when we let him back in just acted like there was a 6ft tree in the living room with lights and swinging baubles haha.. he isn’t bothered by it which I thought it would have been destroyed by now but I didn’t put any baubles too low down just incase.

Re: First Christmas tree
We're not very Christmassy people but do have a tiny little tree on the piano and some lights. With our crowd, I don't think we could have a tree on the floor anyway, it'd get pulled/knocked over in seconds flat!
The do have advent calendars, though. I got Lillie's Kitchen ones this year, they really are good.

Re: First Christmas tree
We usually put artificial tree on a camping table but Nifty’s sleeping crate is parked there. If she wasn’t able to move it by biting or zoomies in/out, I could have considered tree on top.
Not really room elsewhere in lounge and no point putting tree in dining room where we rarely go.
I’m not very xmassy at all but make the effort to avoid being the grumpy one
Will definitely have to consider advent calendar next year. Hesitated this year so filled up on treats instead

Re: First Christmas tree
I stopped having Christmas trees about the same time as my first border collie decided to demolish the third one!
There're other ways of celebrating Christmas!

Re: First Christmas tree
Quick update.
OH couldn’t face xmas without a tree so we have a smaller one on top of the china cupboard so out of Nifty’s reach.
As I said, compromise

Re: First Christmas tree
Sounds like everyone's happy.
But one question - is it not too small to fit all of Nifty's presents underneath?

Re: First Christmas tree
We have decided that we don't need to buy Flo loads of gifts, everyone else has already done that
I'm sure a full sized tree would have been absolutely fine though
