Hi guys was just wondering if any of you have been and can provide any info, we have been told to book flights and hotel seperate as we will get better deal but I never done this before and with it being far away I am a little concerned. Also I have only eva booked my hols abroad through a travel agent never on line so any help with that would be appreciated.

If you're going to gamble at all, I can really recommend getting a players card for the hotel group you're staying at. They're completely free, and you just insert them into the slot machine you're playing and it racks up points. At the end you can use your points to either get free meals, things from the hotel shops, or best of all, free rooms! Due to getting free rooms, we tend to visit Vegas often, so I've been in a lot of hotels there, if you want any info on a particular hotel, maybe I can help!

Also, phone the hotels directly, rather than go online and ask them for the best rate they can possibly give you. It's the American way!

Yep, we book flights first online (expedia sometimes has good deals) and then work rooms out around that.

When I was 16 and in Vegas, all I wanted to do was shop and eat! But the first time you go I reckon you'll end up just walking up and down the strip, visiting casinos and seeing the attractions that are outside. There are games arcades (though to be honest, they're a bit tired now) and both Excalibur and Circus Circus have game areas for under 21s where you win prizes rather than money - I got a gameboy one time, so good prizes! The dolphin&big cats habitat is good, as is Madam Tussauds if you're up for a carry on - it's a totally different set up than the ones here - in Vegas, you're encouraged to touch the waxworks and take the best photos you can with them. It sounds like it would be rubbish, but it ended up being a mad photo shoot Smile

My number 1 tip for Vegas is COMFY SHOES! Things seem so much closer that they are and you end up with bleeding feet just from the sheer amount of walking you end up doing.

When we went to San Francisco the travel agents couldn't help us as they couldn't match hotels to flight availability, so we did it ourselves.

We booked the flight, which was really cheap because it was a last minute thing (less than £300 per adult!) and then I trawled through hotels on line, made a note of the ones that looked good & phoned 4 of them. We chose one that wasn't the cheapest, but was better for our needs (although it was still cheap, as the proprietor dropped their prices when we mentioned that we'd also contact others - she wanted to know what they'd offered, though!).

We never regretted it. The flights were great, the hotel was brilliant - simple but comfortable & clean.

I know it wasn't Vegas, but it was the USA, and they do like to match other people's offers.

Vegas is amazing I went when I was 19 for my cousins Wedding in the MGM Grand even though I couldnt drink or gamble I still had a brill time there is so much to see and do if your under age every casino has something different to see. Comfy shoes are a defo must you dont realise how much you actually walk. There are plenty of shops and also a shooting range if thats your cup of tea we shot at Bin Laden it was great fun.
I hope you have a great time I am so jealous of you rite now! I am gonna start saving lol

its about 7 years ago now that i went but was amazing. we booked through a travel agent and still got a good deal.i suffered really badly with jet lag though so didnt see much of the night time. if you can afford it i would recommend a helicopter to the grand canyon.....an amazing experience which luckily my stepdad paid for as my sister was getting married there the next day so it wasa treat, really gorgeous pilot and a champagne breakfast at the canyon served by the pilot!

which hotel are you thinking of, we stayed at the Luxor and couldnt fault it for the price at the time. Although Circus Circus tends to offer the cheapest deals i wouldnt stay there for love nor money - it really was full of screaming young children!!!

i am jealous and WILL go back one day
