Why have I done it again?!?
Well Misty and I had a wonderful time running the Windsor Muddy Dog Challenge in May.. so much so I have signed us up again for the one at Hever Castle on the 30th Sept.
I have never been prouder of her than I was that afternoon. She was a perfect example of a well trained dog. I was concerned if being around so many excited dogs might stress her out by she was prefect. Even in the holding warm up area she was amazing, there were a few hyped up dogs barking etc but she just looked at me. I think going to training class each week prepared her for this scenario.
Of course she refused some obstacles, I mean what dog would want to go into a swimming pool full of balls? Not my girl that's for sure! She was excellent with the volunteers who held her when I completed obstacles she refused.
If you saw Misty afterwards you would struggle to believe she had even run the course, she is a dog who just seems to remain clean even while crawling through muddy cargo nets.
So I've signed us up again as its a great cause with all money going to Battersea. However I have just remembered, I hate running, truly deteste it. For some unknown reason I have signed us up for double the distance this time.
I'm going to be in some serious pain but as long as Misty enjoys herself that's the main thing.
I'd recommend it to everyone, all dogs must be on leads and it's a wonderful atmosphere, plus the volunteers are wonderful.
In Windsor there were so many Staffords I hope the same happens in Kent too.

Fantastic well done. It's a shame they are so far from here otherwise I would be tempted to give it a go.

That sounds brilliant!!!
I'm gonna have to go look and see if there's any in my area now ... Although if I ran there'd probably be an earthquake!
Good luck and have fun!

That sounds like loads of fun for a very worthy cause.

Re: Why have I done it again?!?
Thanks everyone, I'm really looking ( nervously) forward to it.
I'm not a runner by any stretch of the imagination and Misty won't go into and of the paddling pools so if we can do it anyone can!
Ian, yes it's our second one. We did Windsor in May and now Kent! Battersea held four this year with the others being in Nottingham and Essex.
Well Ian I have some bad news for you... You don't need a dog to run this! So shall I sign you up for next year's

No it's fine Ian don't worry. I've signed you up for the first run of the day. Nice early start so you can finish early then go to the pub! Phew I bet you're relieved now. I can only imagine how upset you were.
