HELP IM PANICING! Empty HELP IM PANICING!

Post by Jess Thu Jul 07 2011, 21:12

Im really worried about tiny he's not eating and seems to have lost quite a bit of weight round his back end. he sleeps loads and i think he's got stomach ache as he keeps whining really high pitched. i haven't changed his food or anything and the vets don't know what's wrong with him but i know my dog and there is definitely something. has anyone had anything similar or help put my mind at ease cos im really really worried :-( thanks

yesssss very similar but without the whining , dakota had a bit of rubber ball lodged in her lower intestine a few weeks back and had to have an op to get it out ,,, but i guess your vet will have had a good feel about so probs not that .... if he has his bits could very well be a bitch in heat very near by , shady goes off his grub when dakota is in season for up to a week and is a whiner aswell

The vet checked him over from head to toe and couldn't find anything she ended up giving him an anti inflammatory injection but it only worked for a few days. with regards to a bitch being in season nearby would that make his bits seem swollen and larger than normal? *blush* sorry but i couldn't think of a better way to put it! i haven't had him done though

If his testicles are swollen, I'd get him straight back to the vets for some more advice!

It could just be an infection, but it could also be something more serious. I really don't want to alarm you, but any swelling should always be checked out.

Erm to put it a polite way its his willie that seems swollen but not all of the time its his stomach that's bothering him i touched it earlier and he opened his mouth really wide and sort of whined but it sounded more like a scream if that makes sense?

Hmmm, a swollen willie is probably just a natural boy-thing. Dempsey does it all the time!

If his tummy's sore, I really would ask the vet to have another look. It shouldn't be hurting him if you prod it a little.

Well tiny he isn't! lol i've only recently noticed how big he is! do staffies suffer with trapped wind at all cos that's the only thing we can think of. he does chew toys but generally tends to spit them out after i've never known him to eat anything he shouldn't but can't think of an explanation for the tummy pain except maybe trapped wind?

Possible. Why not try starving for 24 hours to see if it clears his system out?

Today tiny is his usual hyper self! scoffed last nights dinner before i had the chance to get it and no signs of belly ache or anything! i feel a bit daft today after all that worrying yesterday perhaps it was simply trapped wind i have no idea? thanks for helping to reassure me though guys :-) i love this forum xx
