Re: Looking to get a new pup
What are Cody's dog reactions like? I'm all for multi-dog households and absolutely dogs that aren't great meeting others out and about can be fine with dogs they know. I do have a reservation about bringing a pup into a home with a dog reactive dog when you aren't sure how he'll react and how he will settle, though. Early interactions with others lay the foundations for puppies and it's very easy to knock their confidence if you don't get it right early on.
I personally would work on Cody's reactivity first, possibly with a behaviourist/trainer, and then decide if a puppy is the right way to go. It might be easier to find an older, stable dog who will be less impressionable if Cody finds it hard. I would also consider a foster first, in case it doesn't work out. You can do this with a rescue, you can't if you buy a puppy.
I'm not at all saying I'm sure it wouldn't work, more that there are risks that have to be considered, particularly from the pup's point of view.

I think I would work on Cody's reactiveness before getting a pup, as like Liz says, it's not so easy rehoming if it doesn't work out.
Afraid I don't know if White Staffies are more prone to allergies
